Technical communities in US expect a StartUp Visa Act to attract the foreign-born students to stay and develop their career in US other than back to their countries, e.g. China and India.
The new Act intends to promote a new visa i.e. EB-6, which will allow an immigrant entrepreneur to receive a two year visa if he or she can show that a qualified U.S. investor is willing to dedicate a significant sum i.e. a minimum of $250,000 to the immigrant’s startup venture. The immigrant entrepreneur may apply for permanent green card after two years if he or she can show that it has generated at least five full-time jobs in the US, attracted $1 million in additional investment capital or achieved $1 million in revenue.
