The United States Embassy is pleased to announce that the Consular Section will move to  its new location in Chaoyang District, Beijing on 17 October 2008.  Beginning on 20 October, both the American Citizen Services (ACS) and Nonimmigrant Visa Unit (NIV) will re-open to the public in the U.S. Embassy’s new location at No. 55 An Jia Lou Road.  The consular entrance is located at the Tian Ze Road Intersection of An Jia Lou Road, close to Ladies’ Street (Nüren Jie) and Laitai Flower Market, opposite the Kempinski Hotel and Lufthansa Shopping Center.  The nearest subway location is the Liangmaqiao stop on line #10.

Please note that Consular Section will be closed on the following days:  13 October, 15 October after 12:00pm, 16 and 17 October, and 23 and 24 October.  For the most current information regarding consular services and operating hours, please visit the ACS and Visas pages at the U.S. Embassy website.

Beginning on 14 October, an appointment system will be in effect in ACS; opening hours will remain the same.  The appointment system is accessible on-lineon the ACS page.  To better serve customers, all routine services in ACS will be by appointment only.

There will be no changes to the NIV Unit’s hours or visa appointment scheduling procedures, other than the general closures noted above for the Consular Section.
